“Cock, Hens and Chicks” 1668 (85X110cm) by Melchior D’Hondecoeter 1636-1695.  Glenn had so much work at the time, after drawing-up the subject and blocking-in he decided to subcontract the painting to another artist.  But the other artist had never done copying before and he found it really mind numbing.  So Glenn, not without some sympathy, paid him for what little work he’d done and finished it himself.
